Community Involvement Standing Up for Access to Justice
Every winter, the team at Burnett Injury Group heads to Annapolis to participate in Justice Day hosted by the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ). It’s a day that reflects one of our firm’s core commitments: protecting the rights of injured people and ensuring the civil justice system remains accessible to those who need it most.
Justice Day brings together trial lawyers from across Maryland to meet directly with legislators and advocate for policies that preserve accountability and fairness in our courts. MAJ’s advocacy efforts focus on safeguarding the ability of individuals and families to pursue legitimate claims and have their voices heard. Events like this highlight how important it is for the legal community to stay engaged in the legislative process and speak up when access to justice is at stake.
This year, Burnett Injury Group was proud to stand alongside fellow MAJ members in Annapolis. Throughout the day, attorneys met with lawmakers to discuss legislation that could impact injured Marylanders and their ability to seek recovery through the civil justice system. These conversations are a critical part of ensuring policymakers understand the real-world consequences their decisions can have on the people we serve.
For our firm, Justice Day is about more than policy—it’s about people. Every case we handle represents someone navigating one of the most difficult moments of their life. When barriers are placed in front of the civil justice system, it’s those individuals and families who feel the impact most.
We are grateful to be part of a legal community that remains deeply committed to accountability, fairness, and protecting the rights of injured people across Maryland. Burnett Injury Group will continue to advocate—both in the courtroom and in our community —to help ensure that everyone has a meaningful opportunity to have their day in court.
