Burnett Injury Group is proud to share that founding partner, Suzanne Burnett, was honored with the Women’s Caucus Award at the Maryland Association for Justice’s 2026 President’s Dinner.
Presented by the MAJ Women’s Caucus, the award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and a commitment to supporting women in the legal profession.
Throughout her career, Suzanne has been deeply involved in the MAJ Women’s Caucus, both as a mentee and a mentor. What began as a professional organization became something much more—a community of women who share knowledge, offer guidance, celebrate successes, and provide support through challenges.
The values recognized by this award are ones that have long guided Suzanne’s approach to leadership: investing in others, creating opportunities for growth, and helping the next generation of trial lawyers succeed.
In her acceptance remarks, Suzanne reflected on the impact the Women’s Caucus has had on her own journey: “While my name may be on this award, it really represents the impact all of you have had on me — this caucus has given me incredible mentors, opportunities to support and mentor others, and it has given peers, people who have become my trusted friends and allies.”
Her words highlight what makes the Women’s Caucus so special—not only the opportunity to learn from experienced attorneys, but also the chance to build lasting relationships with colleagues who become trusted friends and advocates.
Mentorship plays a vital role in the legal profession. Experienced attorneys help guide newer lawyers through challenges, share knowledge gained through years of practice, and create pathways for future leaders.
At Burnett Injury Group, we believe that investing in people strengthens both our firm and our profession. Whether through mentoring young attorneys, supporting law clerks, or encouraging professional development, we are committed to fostering growth and opportunity.
Suzanne’s recognition is a testament not only to her leadership, but also to the many women who have helped shape her career. It serves as a reminder that success is rarely achieved alone and that some of the most meaningful accomplishments come from helping others succeed along the way.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Maryland Association for Justice and the MAJ Women’s Caucus for this meaningful honor, and we congratulate Suzanne on this well-deserved recognition.
